A new standard in tool control directly on the machine

Marposs has introduced its ML3G, a non-contact tool measurement system that the company says sets a new standard in tool control directly on the machine.

Unlike traditional mechanical tool setters, the ML3G operates without physical contact. By measuring tools through the interruption of a laser beam, ML3G eliminates the risk of damage to small, fragile or coated tools.

This non-contact method also allows measurements at real cutting speeds, even at thousands of rpm, ensuring accurate results that are unaffected by run-out or dynamic length variations. The ML3G is designed for flexibility, capable of measuring a wide range of tools and performing multiple types of inspection.
