LK unveils modular range of change racks for CMMs

LK Metrology has launched an affordable modular range of change racks for co-ordinate measuring machines (CMMs). Mounted on the granite table, these racks store styli, probes, adapters and laser scanners, enabling automated tool exchange and eliminating manual intervention.

With more ports than other systems, LK’s racks suit both its own CMMs and other brands. They organise tools efficiently, reducing damage risk and extending equipment life. Support rails of 500, 600 or 700 mm accommodate multiple rack modules, ensuring suitability for mixed probe and sensor set ups. The CMM’s motion itself locks and unlocks the probe head autojoint, eliminating extra motors, cables or requalification after tool changes.

The TSR multi-sensor storage rack, available with five or 10 ports and a protective cover, holds various tools, including laser scanners and touch probes. According to LK, it enhances flexibility, ensuring optimal tool use for each CNC inspection task while boosting accuracy and efficiency.
